Chamber History Mission The Kankakee Regional Chamber of Commerce exists to advance the exchange of member’s products and services, to advocate on behalf of our membership with all governmental entities and to assist in collaborative economic development initiatives region-wide. Chamber History Highlights 1904 - Kankakee Retail Merchants Association 1910 - Kankakee Commercial Association 1917 - Kankakee Chamber of Commerce Mission: Promote the economic, civic and social welfare of Kankakee and vicinity 1959 - Kankakee Area Chamber Mission: Promoting the business, economic, social and environmental climate of the County 1980 - Our Chamber was first accredited with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. 1996 - Kankakee River Valley Chamber of Commerce Mission: Provides business leadership for the continuous improvement of the economic environment and the quality of life 2006 - Kankakee Regional Chamber of Commerce Mission: The Chamber exists to advance the exchange of goods and services, advocate on behalf of our membership with all government entities and assist in collaborative economic development initiatives 2007 - Our Chamber moved to new office space at the Metro Centre in Bourbonnais in July 2007.
