Ambassadors The Chamber Ambassadors serve as the public relations arm. On behalf of the Chamber, this energetic group of volunteers makes good will-calls to encourage membership retention and active support of Chamber programs. Ambassadors assist in membership retention by contacting new Chamber members regularly to relay information, identify their concerns, and help them feel welcome and comfortable at Chamber events. The Chamber Ambassadors are known for presence at Business After Hours and hosting the region’s premier golf event – Fun Day. They have just added the Tailgate Challenge to their resume as well. Ambassadors Job Description: • Provide a two-year commitment to the Ambassadors committee • Help retain new members by contacting leads • Facilitate communication between the Chamber Board of Directors and Chamber membership • Personally "network" for fellow Chamber members by promoting their products and services to current and new members • Attend Chamber functions as often as possible • Attend monthly meetings at the Chamber, typically on the second Tuesday of each month • Conduct and attend region’s ground-breaking and ribbon cutting ceremonies. • Act as host at the Annual Dinner, monthly Business After Hours, Business Leaders Luncheons, Fun Day Golf Event and Tailgate Challenge. Serve as goodwill ambassadors for the Chamber on a daily basis and answer any Chamber-related questions that new or potential members may have. • Assist the President and staff in distributing the monthly newsletter, special mailings and annual community publication, Images of the Kankakee River Valley. • Partner and coordinate efforts with the Membership Services Committee to assist and recruit new members into the Chamber as well as retain the current members. • Act as mentors to new members: personal calls made by Ambassadors after a member joins the Chamber, inviting them to Chamber functions (ie: luncheons, Business After Hours, etc), introducing them to other members at these functions and answering any questions they might have about being a member of the Chamber.
