Event Description: Riverside Medical Center and the Riverside Diabetes Wellness Center is offering its Sixth Annual Diabetes Fair on Wednesday, November 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Riverside Medical Center Pavilion, 375 N. Wall Street in Kankakee. The event will feature free activities and screenings including blood glucose screenings, blood pressure screenings, prizes, body fat analysis, chair massages, giveaways, vision screenings, educational booths, foot screenings, arm chair fitness, smoking cessation booth and refreshments. Also, an "Ask a Pharmacist" booth will be available where attendees are encouraged to bring in their medications to discuss with the pharmacists. Educational presentations will also be offered in the Pavilion Board Room. At 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., join Riverside's LaRee Shule, APN/CNS, CCRN, CNRN as she holds a presentation called "Cardiometabolic Risk- As a Diabetic, What is My Risk for Heart Disease?" Then from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., learn and have some fun with "Diabetes Bingo." The Diabetes Fair also features screenings from the Rush-Riverside Heart Center including the ($20) HbA1C Hemoglobin A1C Screening, the ($29) Good Heart Screening, the ($30) Vascular Screening and the ($35) Sleep Disorder Screening. Appointments are required for all paid screenings. All screenings include same day results except for the Good Heart Screenings.
