Women in Business Executive Committee Women in Business has been in existence since 1983. While acting in unity with the mission of the Kankakee Regional Chamber, the Women in Business Executive Committee (WIBEC) strives to meet the needs of our region's working women by providing special programming and networking opportunities. WIBEC Job Description: • Provide a platform for WIB members and potential WIB members to meet new people with similar career goals and interests. • Serve as goodwill ambassadors for the Chamber on a daily basis and answer any chamber-related questions that new or potential members may have. • Assist the President and staff in distributing the monthly newsletter, special mailings and annual community publication, Images of the Kankakee River Valley. • Host monthly Lunch & Learn programs and annual Seminar with meaningful topics and speakers. • Survey the WIB membership regularly to assess their programming and membership benefit needs. Review, restructure if necessary, and enhance the purpose of this committee, creating incentives for commitment to serve as WIBEC members (WIBEC of the Year, etc.). • Raise funds for Anita Grant Scholarship to be given at the annual WIB Seminar in May. • Create awareness of ATHENA Award, encourage ATHENA Award nominations and coordinate the presentation of the prestigious award at the annual WIB Seminar.
